Caryaire Equipments India Pvt. Ltd. (Caryaire) was established in October, 1989 by a visionary HVAC professional, Mr Anil Maheshwari, who already had a working experience of 20 years in Indian HVAC&R industry.

In 1990, the first products to roll out from the modest manufacturing plant in NOIDA, were extruded aluminum grills and diffusers. Caryaire’s product quality and service set it apart from all its competition, and soon it became the benchmark for this product line in the Industry. Encouraged by the confidence shown by its customers, new products like Low Leakage Geared Driven Damper, Smoke & Fire Control Damper with Motorised Actuator, Fire Damper with Fusible Links were introduced in 1991.

In 1993, Caryaire introduced Double Skin Air Handling Units in India. This Product line went on to become a full fledged Division and soon the acronym “AHU” became synonymous with “Caryaire”

In 1995, As Import Policies in India became conducive for Trade, Caryaire introduced Imported Centrifugal Fans from Nicotra spa, Italy to Indian HVAC industry, by becoming their distributor. In the same year, Caryaire also entered into a technology tie up with Euro Register, Belgium for upgrading its technology in Air Distribution Product range. This was the beginning of globalization of manufacturing activities of Caryaire.

In 1996-97 Caryaire signed a technology transfer agreement with Clever s.r.l., Italy to upgrade the manufacturing of Double Skin Air Handling Units at par with best of International Standards. With these new designs and efficient manufacturing technology, Caryaire changed the business dynamics of Air Handling Unit Industry and emerged as the most sought after brand. Caryaire was pioneer in designing most suitable Air handling solutions for critical applications like Pharmaceuticals, Clean Rooms and Software industries.

In 1998, Caryaire became the exclusive Indian distributor for Acutherm, USA, and started to aggressively market their Modular VAV System, named “Thermafuser” .

In the year 1999, Caryaire started manufacturing Heat Transfer Coils in technical collaboration with Heatrans Corpn., USA. Caryaire was the first Indian Company to get its products certified by world renowned Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).

During the next few years, Caryaire continued to consolidate its product offering and steadily climbed into a leadership position in became a trusted, admired and preferred manufacturing and engineering partner for its Customers.

In year 2002, Caryaire became a global company when its products found demand in the international market. Its superior quality products found acceptance in countries like Spain, France, U.K. Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Qatar, Sir Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and UAE. Caryaire soon got the distinction of becoming A Star Export House, awarded by the Govt. of India. In this year, Caryaire added an additional 30000 sqft of state-of-the-art Manufacturing facility in Greater Noida.

By 2003, Revenues from the distribution of Nicotra Fans reached a substantial figure for Caryaire, paving way to form a Joint Venture with Nicotra SpA, Italy, named Nicotra India Pvt. Ltd. The JV brought the manufacturing of Ventilation & Air Conditioning Fans to India. The manufacturing commenced in 2004. The JV Company was among the first companies in India to get its product certified by Air Movement & Control Association (AMCA), a globally renowned certification body in fan business. Since then, the JV Company has been regarded as a pioneer in introducing latest products and technologies in the Indian Commercial & Industrial Fan business

In order to meet ever increasing demand of domestic and international market, another 30,000 sq.ft. of manufacturing space was added in the Greater Noida plant, in the year 2004. In the same year, Caryaire Fire and Smoke Dampers received its Certification from CBRI, Roorkee for 120 minutes Fire Rating. Also in2004, Caryaire signed a one time technology transfer agreement with M&I systems, Canada for manufacturing “Whisper air” Silent Air Handling Unit in India. Caryaire also got aligned with M/s Ostberg for sales of Circular and Rectangular Inline Fans for India market under Caryaire brand. In the same year, Caryaire also got its ISO 9001 certification.

To spread out into the potent Gulf Market, Caryaire formed a Joint Venture company in Dubai named Bindasmal Air System Industries (later name changed to Trosten Industries LLC) to manufacture Air Handling Units for the Gulf market, in association with M/s Bindasmal Group of Dubai.

To enhance its trading portfolio, Caryaire ventured into Distribution of Midea range of Chillers. The Company also promoted Chilled Water Cassette Units, Hi Wall & Floor Mounted Units under Caryaire brand.

Caryaire also started with manufacturing of Air Purification Units using Chemical Filters. In the year 2005, Caryaire crossed a revenue milestone of INR 100cr (USD 20 million).

In 2007, Caryaire hived off its Air distribution division and made a 100% subsidiary, named Caryaire Air System Components Pvt Ltd. (CASC). Later that year, M/s Tomkins (a global leader in the business of Air distribution products) showed interest in acquiring stake in CASC. Consequently CASC was made a JV between Caryaire and Tomkins. Under this venture, Air Distribution Products with the brand names of Caryaire, Ruskin and Titus were promoted.

In the same year, Caryaire expanded the manufacturing to Pune. The 60000 sqft facility with state of the art machinery commenced its operation in September 2007 on rental basis. This facility was primarily manufacturing Air Handling & Fan Coil Units for the Western and Southern regions of India and Export market. Caryaire also got CE certification for its Air Handling Units and Fan Coil units
Caryaire also received the “Innovations and New Developments” Award by NIRATA in 2007.

In 2008, Caryaire formed a Joint Venture company named Carycore Refrigeration India Pvt. Ltd. with a technocrat named Mr. Karthik Nagarajan to manufacture Refrigeration and Cold chain equipments. Caryaire exited out of this business in the year 2012.

During the period of 2008 and 2009, Caryaire caught the attention of several Foreign Companies, who wanted to associate with it in some shape or another. In 2009, Caryaire made a strategic decision to sell off its Air Handling Units business for Indian operations, to one of the leading European companies, M/s FLAKTWOODS. One of the plants in Greater Noida was leased out to M/s Flaktwoods and the Pune manufacturing plant rent deed was transferred.

As part of its diversification strategy in India, Caryaire formed a Joint Venture company named, M M Metacraft Pvt. Ltd. in 2009 with two businessmen, Mr. Rajesh Mittal and Mr. Naveen Mittal to foray into Aluminum extrusion. The company started its manufacturing operation with the first CNC extrusion press in the month of September 2010 in Sahibabad plant. Within 2 years, the Company reached its peak capacity and later added another extrusion press to take its production capacity to 4500 tons per year.

Thus, by 2010, Caryaire (Caryaire Equipments India Pvt Ltd) became more of a holding company with investments in various JV companies and continuing with trading of Ventilation products – Inline Fans, Chilled water Cassette, Fan Coil & Hi Wall Units. Caryaire also started a division named Carysoft, which develops, markets and distributes customized ERP solutions, with specialization for manufacturing units.

In the latter half of 2012, Caryaire & Tomkins decided to separate out of their Joint Venture Company and operate independently. As part of the mutual termination agreement, Caryaire sold its shares in the JV Company, M/s Caryaire Air System Components, with the Company name being modified to Ruskin Titus India, to accurately reflect its new ownership.

In 2013, Caryaire re-launched its widely admired Air Distribution Division (with products like Grills, Diffusers, Volume Control & Fire & Smoke Dampers) under its trademark brand Caryaire. To support its continuous ambition to provide its Customers with the best products and services, Caryaire started with brand new manufacturing facility in Greater NOIDA with lots of extra space for future expansion.

At Present (2014), Caryaire Group has an Annual Turnover of INR 150Cr (USD 25mn), with 3 factories – Total 120,000 sqft (Greater Noida -2, Sahibabad -1), 2 warehouses (Mumbai & Noida) and 3 Sales offices (Noida, Mumbai and Bangalore). The Company has various Dealers & Representatives spread across entire nation.
